I、 Features:

Sabic POE possess uniformity of molecular structure, very narrow molecular weight distribution (MWD) and crystallinity. Therefore, they are able to meet the requirements of applications, such as flexibility, hardness, elasticity, permanent compression deformation, thermal resistance, transparency and other important features. In addition, they have excellent fluidity and can be used in bridging effectively by peroxides, siloxane or radiation. To summarize the comparisons of the important physical properties and other conventional elastic materials, the following outstanding performances of Sabic POE are listed:

1.Lighter weight: this advantage improves the operational efficiency, produces more products per unit resin weight, reduces costs and increases economic profit.
2.Satisfactory low-temperature resistant fragility: Sabic POE have superior low-temperature resistant fragility compared to PVC in the same hardness.
3.Outstanding weather resistance: Sabic POE are polymerized by saturated bindings and possess outstanding weather resistance. However, the SBS elastomers, with poorer weather resistance, are constituted by unsaturated double bonds and can be easily destroyed by UV light.
4.Excellent processibility: Sabic POE possess unique long side chains in the molecular structure and, therefore, enhance the processibility.
5.Low-temperature fluidity: the fluidity of Sabic POE fit in with the applications of high impact at low temperature environments. Of course, when mixed with PP, higher Sabic POE contain the more excellent fluidity.
6. Sabic POE and EPDM in the mixed chains of TPO elastomers, Sabic POE have very good dispersibility and tensile strength while EPDM is inferior.

II、 Applications of Sabic POE in rubber industry

Sabic POE show superior advantages over conventional EPM and EPDM rubber. From the technical point of view, two features of Sabic POE prove the superiority:
1. Its density between 0.857 and 0.908 provides various requirements for elastic properties.
2. It breaks the relationship between Mooney viscosity and physical properties in conventional rubber processing. The Mooney viscosity of conventional elastomers is usually ranged from 20 to 90. Those materials with low Mooney viscosity can be processed easily but with poor mechanical characteristics. Those rubbers with high Mooney viscosity cannot be processed easily, though they possess good mechanical properties. However, Sabic POE with 2 to 40 Mooney viscosity belong to low Mooney materials, yet they have excellent mechanical characteristics equal to those with high Mooney viscosity.

In addition, three Sabic POE below indicate the superiority over EPM and EPDM rubbers:

1.Excellent thermal aging endurance
2.Outstanding compression distortion and high ozone resistance
3.Good UV stability
Sabic POE take the place of flexural PVC, EPDM, EPR, EMA, EVA, TPV, SBC and LDPE in various products, such as car tailgates, experimental clear-flexural catheters, conveyor belts, printing rollers, machine components, sports shoes, midsoles and outsoles, components and insulated cables.
